These four long paintings began as a form of contemplation on my sense of separation from nature. I started by painting the experience of walking through the landscape.
Over time they became a documentation of my unwilling acceptance that an environmental disaster is looming.
Combined with the small stolen moments paintings (next page), these paintings examine the contrast between personal and geological time.
